Reflections on the Tech Conference in Jakarta

Last week, I attended the Tech in Asia Conference in Jakarta! There were attendees from across Asia, and it was incredibly insightful to hear directly from executives about their companies' perspectives. Throughout the conference, I sensed Indonesia's vast potential for growth in various fields through information technology. With over 50 keynotes and panel discussions on topics like education, finance, logistics, and more, I was able to attend only a few of them due to scheduling conflicts, as multiple sessions ran simultaneously. Luckily, my ticket (Pro plan) includes access to all recordings, so I look forward to watching each session and gaining additional takeaways. If possible, I plan to organize my notes and share an article on LinkedIn as my output.

Additionally, with participants from diverse Asian countries, I had an opportunity to listen to different English accents, which was a valuable experience for training my ear, though some accents were challenging to understand. While my listening skills need improvement, I also realized that having clear pronunciation and intonation is a ‘hospitality’ that helps foster connections. This realization gave me extra motivation to work on my English pronunciation.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience at the conference, even though the ticket was quite an investment. I gained new insights and got the inspiration to continue my studies both in programming and in language learning (English and Bahasa Indonesia). If I have another chance to attend a major tech conference, I will be excited to go and expand my network even further.

Exploring Japan Hiroba and Eniq Cafe in Second Life

Hey everyone! I recently got the chance to explore two fun spots in Second Life, and I’m excited to share my experience with you.

Stop 1: Japan Hiroba

First, we visited Japan Hiroba, which is super popular among newbies in Second Life because they offer tons of freebies! I picked up some awesome clothes and accessories for my avatar, and the highlight for me was the yukata (a traditional Japanese outfit). It felt perfect for the place, which has major matsuri vibes, like a fun Japanese festival! There’s also a stunning temple that we came across while wandering around. Definitely a great place if you’re looking to dress up your avatar and soak in some Japanese culture!

Stop 2: Eniq Cafe

Next up was Eniq Cafe, which was super cute and cozy! With Halloween around the corner, the whole place was full of spooky decorations, which made it the perfect hangout for this time of year. Whether you’re into seasonal designs or just want a chill virtual cafe to relax in, Eniq Cafe definitely a great spot.

Both Japan Hiroba and Eniq Cafe were awesome places to explore, each offering something unique. If you’re exploring Second Life, I highly recommend checking these out!
