New intern at Tenatch : An introduction

 Welcome everyone!

I’m really excited to bring my passion for marketing to the team and learn from each of you!

My name is Shirley, but you can call me Shir – it’s short, sweet, and easy to remember! I’m thrilled to introduce myself as a new intern at Tenatch.

I studied Hospitality and Tourism in Peru, and to be honest, it was love at first sight. I’ve always enjoyed working with clients and making sure they leave with a big smile on their faces. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in various roles within the hospitality industry. However, during the pandemic, I had the opportunity to work as a Sales and Marketing Assistant for a women’s clothing brand (a small business). That’s when I caught the marketing bug! It was so contagious that I packed my bags and moved to Canada to dive deeper into Sales and Marketing.

This experience gave me valuable insights into the challenges small businesses face in their early stages, and I’m confident that it will help me understand and address the unique needs of Tenatch as we move forward.

I’ve been in Canada for over a year now, I am currently enrolled a CO- OP program at ILAC College, and I have to say it’s been an incredible journey. I live in Toronto, Ontario, and one of the things I love most about this city is how vibrant and dynamic it is. Toronto is a place where cultures blend seamlessly, creating a truly unique experience.

Last but not least, in my free time , when I’m not studying or working, you’ll probably find me dancing (yes, I’m that person at the party). I know how to dance Bachata, Salsa, Merengue, and of course, Reggaeton—so don’t hesitate to challenge me to a dance-off!  Another one of my passions is hiking and cycling, because nothing beats the feeling of freedom on a bike or out in nature. Lately, I’ve also been trying to read more books. Turns out, there’s more to life than Netflix!

"Thank you so much for taking the time to read my introduction. I hope you all have a fantastic day! 😊"
