Introduce Myself

 Hi! I’m Ayuna. I’m happy to introduce myself as a new intern in Tenatch !

I’m from Japan, and I’m currently studying English at a language school in Toronto, Canada.

I’m taking a leave of absence from my university in Japan, where I study Media and Cultural Studies in the Faculty of Letters. My research focuses on how media influences people’s values and perceptions, especially when it comes to lookism and gender inequality.

Last summer, I spent 50 days in the United States on a homestay. It was an amazing experience, but I also faced some challenges. I sometimes couldn’t communicate what I wanted to say in English, and I became more passive than I wanted to be. I remember feeling frustrated because I wanted to talk to people and express myself, but I couldn’t do it confidently in English.

That experience made me realize that I wanted to live abroad again for a longer period of time. So, I decided to come to Canada and challenge myself once more. This time, my goal is not only to improve my English, but also to become more confident in communicating with people from different backgrounds.

Since coming to Canada, I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from many different countries. I really enjoy learning about different cultures, values, and ways of thinking. Meeting so many people with different backgrounds has also changed the way I think about my future career.

Before coming to Canada, I was mainly interested in working for an advertising agency or a publishing company because I’ve always been interested in media, communication, and creative work. However, after experiencing a multicultural environment here, I’ve started to consider other possibilities, such as working for a trading company or another company that allows me to connect Japan with the rest of the world.

I’m still exploring what I want to do in the future, but I’m excited to discover new possibilities through my experiences in Canada!

In my free time, I love watching Korean dramas and exploring Korean restaurants. I’ve also made some Korean friends here in Canada, and we often go out together to discover new Korean restaurants.

I’m really enjoying my life in Toronto so far, and I’m looking forward to meeting more people, learning new things, and making lots of memories!

AI Salon Kansai 2026 Experience

Hi everyone, I’m Riku.

Today, I’d like to share my experience attending the 2026 AI Salon Osaka as an intern with tsuin.ai.

First, I would like to explain the overview of the event.

AI Salon Kansai is an event where people can connect with AI builders, founders, researchers, and investors who are shaping the future of Kansai. The event includes AI startup pitch presentations, an innovation gallery, and cultural experiences. It is held regularly in different locations.This time, the event was held at Toji Temple in Osaka. It was a very special experience to attend an AI event in a traditional Japanese temple. The reason they chose a temple as the venue was to express a vision where advanced AI respects and integrates with Japan’s thousand-year-old culture. The combination of tradition and cutting-edge technology created a very impressive atmosphere.

About 40 people attended the event, and it was held in one of the temple’s rooms. At the beginning, a Buddhist monk performed a sutra chanting ceremony. After that, two AI startup companies gave presentations. Finally, there was a free networking session. There was also a Japanese calligraphy experience corner at the back of the room, which allowed participants to feel traditional Japanese culture throughout the event.

During the networking session, I had the chance to talk with several people. I would like to briefly introduce two conversations that left a strong impression on me.

　　　　　　　

The first person I spoke with had moved to Japan and started a company that supports event organization. His company helped prepare this event. When I asked him about challenges, he said that he struggled with the various procedures required to start a company in Japan. Listening to his story reminded me of my own experience living abroad. I realized again how difficult it can be to deal with different systems and cultures. At the same time, I felt that there may be business opportunities in solving these kinds of problems.

With Rokken

The second person I spoke with was a product manager at a company that develops software to solve real-world problems using AI and 3D technology. He had previously studied in Japan as an international student and spoke Japanese fluently. Although he had only been at the company for a few months, he already had experience in product management and business strategy. He was very motivated to grow new businesses. Talking with people who continue to take on new challenges was a very valuable experience for me. It made me realize again how important it is to keep challenging myself in the future.

A Business Idea for a Gaming-Focused Rental Space

Hi everyone!

In this time, I would like to introduce a business model that I'm interested in and would like to try in the future.

The business idea I'm considering is a rental space service with facilities specialized for gaming.

There are three main reasons why I came up with this idea.

First, I have liked playing games since I was a child and I still play them often. However, when playing games with several people at home, I felt that there were limits in terms of space, equipment, and the environment.

Second, I have seen people around me who cannot enjoy games because of environmental or financial reasons. I thought this service could help people who want to play games but cannot do so.

Third, in recent years, the number of game streamers has increased because of social media. However, some people start streaming but stop because they do not have a good environment or proper equipment. Others want to start streaming but do not have a suitable place. I believe this service can help solve these problems.

For these reasons, I thought that a place where people can easily gather and enjoy games would be valuable for many users.

Currently, places where people can play games include internet cafes, e-sports facilities, rental spaces, and their own homes. However, each option has its own problems.

In internet cafes, noise from other people can be distracting, and the equipment is sometimes not good enough. E-sports facilities have good equipment and environments, but they are expensive and can feel difficult for beginners to use. Rental spaces are different depending on the location, and users often need to prepare things by themselves. At home, limited space and equipment make it hard to play games for a long time.

This business provides rental spaces with facilities made especially for gaming.

It offers high-performance gaming equipment, soundproof rooms, and stable internet connections. The service can be used by individuals or groups, and it is designed to be easy and comfortable for beginners.

In recent years, gaming tournaments have become more popular. By using this service, it would be easier to hold small or medium-sized tournaments, so I believe there is strong demand for this business.

The initial cost includes buying gaming equipment and setting up the space. However, I believe the running costs can be kept relatively low.

This business model can give new opportunities to people who could not play games before. It can also support streamers by providing a place to stream, which may increase interest in games among viewers. As a result, I believe this service can help grow the gaming industry.

There are still some parts that need improvement, but I would be happy to receive any ideas or suggestions.

Life on Taketomi Island in Okinawa

Hi everyone, I’m Riku.

Today, I’d like to introduce a place in Japan that I find very unique.
It’s called Taketomi Island, located near Ishigaki Island in Okinawa.

Taketomi Island is a small traditional island with a very small population.
About 350 people live on the island, which gives it a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.

One interesting fact about Taketomi Island is that there is no school on the island.
Because of this, children have to take a boat to another island to go to school, which shows how different daily life is there compared to big cities.

The island is also famous for its red-tiled roofs, stone walls, and white sand streets.
These traditional features create an exotic atmosphere, as you can see in the picture below.
Walking around the island, you can really enjoy the beautiful nature and peaceful scenery.

By the way, here is a question.

On Taketomi Island, tourists can go sightseeing in a vehicle pulled by a certain animal.
What animal do you think it is?

The answer is a water buffalo.

Water buffaloes are not unique to Japan, but they are special in Okinawa because they are used for tourism.
Riding a water buffalo cart is one of the most famous experiences on Taketomi Island and a great way to explore the island slowly.

If you are interested in unique culture and love nature, I highly recommend visiting Taketomi Island.

Introducing Myself

Hi everyone! My name is Riku. I’m very happy to join Tenatch as a new intern.

I’m from Hyogo, Japan, and I’m currently studying web design and programming.
I majored in psychology at university and worked as an operations engineer at an IT company for three years. After that, I worked at restaurants in Toronto until recently, and I have just returned to Japan.
While working at the IT company, I became interested in IT technology because I enjoyed learning new technical skills. This experience motivated me to start learning various IT technologies, including web design and programming. When I was living in Toronto, I was looking for an IT related internship, so I’m very excited to have this opportunity at Tenatch.
My hobbies include playing basketball, going to the sauna, and traveling. I have visited three countries so far and would love to visit many more in the future. I currently play basketball on a local team and still play regularly. Playing sports helps me relax and stay healthy, both physically and mentally, so I plan to continue playing sports in the future as part of my mental self care.
In my free time, I enjoy going to cafes and reading books. I read a wide variety of genres, but recently I’ve been especially interested in self-help books. I find them fascinating because they introduce new ideas and perspectives that I wouldn’t come up with on my own.

I’m really excited about this opportunity to learn new things, and I’m looking forward to gaining valuable experiences through this internship.

Music motivator application business proposal

Hi. my name's Cher-Zhen and I'm here to introduce a business idea. 

Over the Summer, I dived into the deep realm of anime and watched them consistently, one thing that really stood out was the original music that each anime had, and being a really hands-on person, I myself tried to play it. 

And at the end of Summer, I realize, I still could not play the song I wanted to.

This resulted mainly due to the a few reasons:

1️⃣ I was juggling an internship and other interests — time was a challenge.
2️⃣ My motivation faded once I finished the anime — the initial excitement didn’t last long enough.

After some reflection I've thought of an application idea that can serve as a music motivator. With this idea in mind, I began reading.

🎶 Introducing: A Mobile App for Musical Motivation & Community

I read this research article on what could really help motivate others, and from here I got to know about Self-Determination Theory (SDT).I learnt that the majority of people found motivation when their psychological needs were met, and I decided that capitalising off nurturing a conducive society arround one's identity would help with this.

After much brainstorming, I've decided that an application which served as a community platform, with constant daily reminders to sign on and collect points which contributed to a leadership system with friends would be helpful

⭐ Key Features

Bandplay
Users join friends or others in the community to learn the same song together — but each on different instruments. The song is split into weekly segments. At the end of each week, everyone’s recordings are merged into a musical section, allowing the group to hear their progress come together. This nurtures teamwork, accountability, and a strong sense of belonging.

Friendly push notifications keep musical goals top-of-mind, making it easier to build consistency.

Leaderboard System (selectable)
Collected effort points can be shared publicly — motivating users in a fun, friendly competition with friends.

🎧 The Heart of the Concept

The aim of these features are all to enable users to partake in learning their favourite songs, as well as fostering a community around our users that makes learning fun and interactive. With so many social aspects to it, we hope that our users can take this oppurtunity to meet new people with similar interests and for them to learn their songs!

Our Bandplay feature builds on a sense of belonging and accountability. Knowing you are part of a group and are expected to deliver will keep you on yout toes, and listening to your piece of music coming together at the end of every week is surely to be a boost of motivation! I believe that this application can serve as an outlet for stress, anxiety as well as serve as a great solution to boredom.

📱 Why Mobile?

I wish to implement this application on mobile, where learning can be really portable and convenient to bring around, as well as to utilize the device's speakers for audio recognition, which will be a crucial function for our features to work properly. Musical instruments will connect to the app after a tuning system, where music will be played on the instrument and our application will pick up on the frequency and wavelength of the emmitted sound waves, then after some processing, it will be synced and will be able to tell the chords and notes our user plays. A silent environment is best for this to work. 

An interesting place I've been to

I've lived through my first winter over here in England now and have made it through. What it left me was many good memories, a wedding anniversary, and hikes up and down a mountain where we had picnics in the freezing cold.

From this, I was allowed to experience many things, one of these was skyline. Skyline, Bath, lives true to its name. Standing on top of this hill, you get to see the stunning landscape of the historical city of Bath, deemed as one of the prestigious heritage UNESCO cities in the UK, it offers an experience through time to architecture that is unreplicated today.

This is where I relax and go on walks. Where I have picnics with friends. Where I come to think and engulf myself in the vast expanse of history that is placed before me. I'm always reminded that the city was always here first, and compared to it, I feel small and unimportant, but it's really comfortable. This place is a mood reliever for me, where I had some of my best memories. During winter, I sat here for 2 hours with friends in the freezing cold as we ate our pre-packed dinners. We shared oreos even though the cold bit into our nails and froze our blood. Yet we still reached out and shared food. 

It's interesting to me how spending time here during different seasons alters my mood. How during the rainy Autumn that I arrived, Skyline was brooding and dark grey, it comforted the me that first arrived in England and kept me ready for each event that eventually came my way. During winter, when the cold seeped into our bones and kept us rooted to our homes, every trip out felt like an adventure. Spring, when it came with its hay fever and pollenating flowers that sprung between every sliver of space between grass. Summer, when the heat seared our skin and loosened our layers of clothing. Every season brings a different mood about me, and I travelling here is always a better part of my day.

Malaysia (Merdeka 118)

Hi! My name is Cher-Zhen and I grew up in Malaysia! There, its always hot and sunny with a plethora of cheap but really good options everywhere. I was raised in a loving family of 5 in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur and as of writing this, I'm a 2nd year student in University of Bath! I'm currently based in the UK where its cold and windy and am pursuing a bachelors degree in Computer Science! I like the weather here(sometimes) and the overall vibe over here. I've been experimenting with different hobbies such as cooking and running recently and I'm also the chairperson of the Malaysian Society here. I enjoy talking to people and working on innovative projects and just generally seeing plans come to fruition. I'm always looking out for more oppurtunities to develop my personal growth and I'm a firm believer that a good community stimulates good behaviour!

United Kingdom(Skyline,Bath)

Aside from my general information, I am an avid nature lover and love spending time going on lesiurely walks with my dog! I really enjoy just going outside and enjoying what the natural world has to offer. Coupled with a good playlist, saturday mornings spent hiking or trekking is ideal for me. Before interning at Tsuin.Ai, I was working as a Cybersecurity intern in UOB Malaysia where I got loads of hands on experience dealing with ID Management. and before that I've worked several customer service jobs after my IGCSE's and A-Levels to earn some extra pocket money but I've simultaneously gained some extremely important life lessons that still follow me till this day! I'm happy to chat to anyone that reaches out, and I'm looking forward to meeting new people and learning from everyone! :D

Anne of Green Gables

 

One Canadian book that I would really like to read is Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. This classic novel was first published in 1908 and is set in Prince Edward Island, a place known for its beautiful landscapes and strong cultural traditions. It is one of the most famous works of Canadian literature, loved by readers all around the world. I am especially interested in this book because it represents not only the story of one girl’s life but also an introduction to Canadian nature, history, and values.

The story follows Anne Shirley, an imaginative orphan girl who is mistakenly sent to live with Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, two siblings who originally wanted to adopt a boy to help with their farm. Despite the mistake, Anne becomes part of their household and gradually wins their hearts with her lively personality. She faces challenges at school, builds friendships, and learns the importance of family, belonging, and personal growth.

I first became interested in this book after seeing photos of the beautiful scenery of Prince Edward Island. The landscapes looked so peaceful and unique that I immediately thought it would be a wonderful place to visit someday. When I later learned that this island was the setting of Anne of Green Gables, I became even more curious about the story.

Another reason I want to read this book is that it reflects Canadian culture and identity. Prince Edward Island is described with vivid detail, from the “Green Gables” house to the surrounding countryside. Through the story, I would like to learn how Canadians in the early twentieth century lived, what values were important to them, and how their connection with nature shaped their daily lives. I believe reading this book would give me a deeper understanding of the cultural background of the country I am experiencing now.

In conclusion, Anne of Green Gables is not just a children’s story but a timeless Canadian novel that explores universal themes such as family, friendship, identity, and hope. Even though I have not read the book yet, I am eager to do so because I believe it will help me learn more about Canadian culture and also inspire me to approach life with more imagination and courage. For these reasons, I consider this novel to be the Canadian book that I most want to read in the near future.

Different Spirits: Humor in Osaka and Formality in Tokyo

My hometown Osaka is not only famous for delicious food and historic landmarks, but also for the warm and humorous character of its people. Osaka people are often described as friendly, direct, and cheerful.Unlike in some other parts of Japan, they are not shy about expressing their feelings and are quick to strike up conversations, even with strangers. This openness creates a unique atmosphere where visitors immediately feel welcomed.

A key feature of Osaka culture is the Kansai dialect, which sounds quite different from standard Japanese. Kansai dialect is often described as rhythmical, expressive, and even playful. For example, the simple phrase "Thank you" is usually "arigatou", but in Osaka people often say "ookini", which carries a warmer and more casual feeling. Because of its lively tone, Kansai dialect is strongly associated with humour and is frequently used by comedians to make their jokes sound funnier.

The style called "manzai", performed by two comedians who exchange quick and witty dialogue, has its roots in Osaka and remains popular all over Japan today. However, comedy in Osaka is not only performed on stage; it is part of daily life. People enjoy making jokes in casual conversations, and even shopkeepers or taxi drivers may add humor to their words. This shows how laughter is deeply woven into the culture of the city.

Compared to Tokyo, which is the capital and often seen as formal, fast-paced, and business-oriented, Osaka has a more relaxed and approachable atmosphere. People in Tokyo may appear polite but distant, while people in Osaka tend to be more direct and willing to joke around. For instance, in Tokyo it is less common for strangers to casually talk to each other, but in Osaka this happens naturally. This cultural difference makes Osaka stand out as a city where humour and friendliness are essential parts of everyday life.

Growing up in Osaka, I experienced this cheerful culture every day. At school, even teachers sometimes told jokes to makes the lessons more enjoyable. In public, I often heard strangers laughing together, even if they had just met. These small but memorable moments taught me that humour is not only about laughing, but also about building connections between people

In conclusion, Osaka is a city full of warmth, humour, and openness. The personality of its people, the charm of Kansai dialect, the rich comedy culture, and the contrast with Tokyo all highlight what makes Osaka unique. This lively and welcoming spirit is one of the reasons I am proud to call Osaka my hometown, and it is also why many visitors leave the city with unforgettable memories. 

London: A City That Remains in My Heart

 

Do you have a dream destination, a place you hope to visit at least once in your lifetime?
For me, that place is England—and more specifically, London. Not only did I travel there, but I also had the chance to live in London for two years. Because of that, my connection with the city goes beyond being just a tourist—it feels like a second home.

When I first arrived in London, I was amazed by the iconic landmarks. Seeing Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower of London in real life was surreal. Walking along the River Thames at night, with the London Eye lit up in the background, gave me a sense of excitement that never faded, no matter how many times I passed by.

However, the true beauty of London is not only in its famous attractions, but also in the everyday experiences. I loved exploring the different neighborhoods, each with its own personality. Camden had an alternative, creative energy with its music and street art. Notting Hill was colorful and charming, especially during the annual carnival. Shoreditch was trendy and modern, filled with unique cafés and street markets. Every part of the city felt like a new adventure.

One of my favorite things about living in London was the museums and galleries. The fact that so many of them are free is incredible. I spent hours inside the British Museum, amazed by artifacts from around the world, and the National Gallery, where I could stand in front of masterpieces by Van Gogh or Monet. For someone who loves art and history, London felt like an endless treasure chest.

Of course, life in London was not only about culture and sightseeing—it was also about people. London is one of the most international cities in the world, and I could meet people from so many different countries and backgrounds. On the Tube, in cafés, or at school, I was always surrounded by different languages and cultures. That diversity made me feel connected to a global community, and it taught me to be more open-minded and curious.

Looking back, my two years in London were some of the most meaningful in my life. The city shaped who I am today and gave me unforgettable memories. For me, London is not just a place to visit—it is a place that will always feel like home. One day, I truly hope to return and experience that feeling again.

My Idea for a Future Business: A public Toilet Finder App

 

Have you ever been out in the city and suddenly needed to find a restroom, but couldn't locate one nearby? This is a situation I have experienced many times, and it can be stressful-especially when you are in a new area, traveling, or on a tight schedule. Most of the time, the only available option is to go into a café or restaurant and buy something just to use their facilities. This inconvenience inspired me to come up with an idea for a business that could help solve this problem for many people.

My idea is to create an app that allows users to quickly and easily find public restrooms on a map. The app would display available restrooms int shopping malls, public buildings, parks, and other free-to-use facilities. It could also include helpful information such as opening hours, accessibility options, cleanliness ratings, and even whether baby-changing tables are available.

One of the key features of the app would be community participation. Users could add new restroom locations, leave reviews, and upload photos to keep the information up to date and accurate. This would make the app more reliable over time and create a sense of collaboration among users.

I believe this app could be particularly helpful for tourists who are visiting a city for the first time, parents with young children, elderly people, or anyone with specific health needs. Having quick access to this information could make outings less stressful and more enjoyable for everyone.

In the future, I would love to work on developing this app and see it become a tool that makes urban life a little easier. This project would also allow me to apply my skills in web and mobile development while solving a real-world problem that affects many people every day.

My Business Idea: A Fun Detour App

Have you ever felt like your daily commute or walk is just… routine? What if you could turn those everyday routes into little adventures?

Detour isn’t your typical detour app for traffic jams or construction. It’s all about discovering hidden gems and fun spots along your route!

When signing up, users select their interests (e.g. art, coffee, nature, or bars). The app connects with a map, so once you enter your current location and destination (e.g. home, workplace, or school), the AI suggests personalized detours along the way.

Depending on the time of day and your interests, you might find spots with stunning sunsets, a hidden cafe, or an amazing bar you’ve never noticed before. Every route becomes an opportunity for discovery.

In the future, the app could partner with local businesses to host events or offer special discounts for members, helping to revitalize nearby shops and cafes.

Instead of just finding the fastest route, Detour transforms your daily paths into opportunities for adventure and connection.

A Fun Visit to the Salon National Des Animaux de Compagnie

 Do you like Animals?

I have visited the Salon National des Animaux de Compagnie (SNAC) in Montreal, and i was an amazing experience! This event is perfect for anyone who loves animals.

At SNAC, you can see a wide variety of animals, form cats and dogs to exotic species. What makes this event unique is not just the animals themselves, but also the fun activities and competitions. There are conformation contests and helpful advice on how to take care of your pets.

One of the most interesting animals I found was a hairless breed of dog. I own a Sphinx cat, so I had never known this type of dog existed until I saw it at SNAC. Someday, I would love to have one of these dogs myself.

It's an event for the whole family, full of excitement, learning, and of course, adorable animal. I had a great time exploring all the different exhibits, meeting the animals, and learning more about how to take care of them. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in pets or looking for a fun and educational outing.

Hi everyone,

My name is Takahiro. I'm originally from Osaka, Japan and currently living in Montreal, Canada,where I'm studying Web and Mobile Development at Teccart.I've been interested in the Internet and how websites are created and function ever since I was young. I have always been curious about the technology behind websites and enjoy learning how different elements work together to create interactive and user-friendly experiences.

I've been living in Montreal since 2018, and during this time, I have gained a variety of experiences through a Working Holiday, a work visa, and student visa. These experiences have helped me adapt to different environments, manage responsibilities, and grow both personally and professionally.

In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, visiting cafés, going out with my friends, exploring new places, and learning new languages.(I speak Japanese, French and English, and want to learn a fourth language). I also love traveling. I have been England, France, Portugal, Germany, the Philippines, Taiwan and Canada. During my travels, I enjoy exploring local cultures, trying different foods, and visiting historical sites. Unfortunately, I haven't traveled since 2020 because of COVID-19, but I hope to explore more countries in the future!

Purebread started in Whistler and has now expanded to Function Junction, Squamish, Vancouver, and even YVR Airport in Richmond. Every cake, pastry, bread, and cookie is made from the finest, freshest ingredients, free of preservatives and artificial additives.

Today, I would like to share my favorite downtown location.

The cafe has a cozy yet stylish interior, with wooden tables and warm, soft lighting. There are lots of seating options, from tables to cozy window counters, so you can choose wherever you like. While I was there, the café was busy with lots of customers. The friendly staff also give a warm welcome, making you feel right at home.

What makes this cafe special is its showcase, packed with all kinds of pastries. You’ll find everything from classic brownies to unique treats like lemon blueberry basil scones. It’s probably impossible to try every single pastry here; there are just too many delicious options!

Of course, you can also order drinks. I chose a raspberry orange scone and an iced oat milk latte. The sweet and slightly sour flavors of the raspberry and orange were a perfect match for the sugar glaze!

The pastry flavor combinations at this cafe always give me so much inspiration. I’d love to try baking them myself someday. If you’re in Vancouver or planning a trip there, I really recommend stopping by.
